Everyone has their own individual tastes when it comes to makeup. As it is truly a form of expressionist art, individuality is plainly obvious, and undeniably wonderful. Following new trends can be fun because you are introduced to new methods for expression. Today we’re going to tackle a simplistic and au naturel makeup look. One which we believe will work wonderfully for an afternoon tea. We’re going to keep this as simple as we can, using the most effective products. To achieve a natural look for afternoon tea, we recommend a good base primer (preferably one containing sunscreen-especially if you are taking tea outside), a luminous foundation, setting powder, a natural blusher, bronzer, a light pink-hued highlighter, lash-lengthening mascara, eyeliner, a brow pencil, a natural-looking sheer lipstick, eye shadows in shimmering shades of bronze, and a light pink nail polish.
Following a few simple steps using these products will help you achieve a chic and classic makeup look for afternoon tea.
Natural-Looking Makeup for Afternoon Tea
STEP 1
Apply your primer to clean skin and allow it to set.
STEP 2
Follow the base primer with a light application of luminous silk foundation.
STEP 3
Using a fluffy brush, apply the setting powder – this helps reduce any unnecessary shine from the foundation.
STEP 4
Add some color to your skin by applying a light dusting of natural blusher to the apples of your cheeks and blend out toward your temples.
STEP 5
Next, apply the bronzer in a sideways “w” pattern starting at your temples, into the hollows of your cheeks and on the jawline. Then blend, blend, blend your blush and bronzer! You don’t want a clearly defined line from either.
STEP 6
Follow your blending with a light stroke of the highlighter to areas that the light would naturally hit your face, like your cheekbones and cupids bow (right above the middle section of your top lip).
STEP 7
Next add a shimmering champagne shadow to your eyelid, and a rose gold to your crease.
STEP 8
To finish out the eyes, add a line of eyeliner under your upper lashes for fullness.
STEP 9
Then sweep on 2 coats of lash-lengthening mascara.
STEP 10
Use a good-quality brow pencil to fill in any sparse areas on your eyebrows.
STEP 11
Slick on an award-winning, natural-hued lipstick and smile!
BONUS
Finish the look with a light pink nail polish.
