The moment you step onto the plantation, it feels as if you have been transported back in time to the 18th century. You can almost imagine what it would have looked like when the ladies and gentlemen of the south sashayed about the property in their finery. It is a beautiful landmark, preserved with the utmost care. Beautiful sculptures and manicured gardens plunge visitors into a captivating historical experience.

The guides are incredibly knowledgeable and provide you with unique anecdotes and history about the plantation and gardens. Another must-do at this plantation is the Middleton Place Restaurant which serves superb Lowcountry cuisine. Try it out for lunch or dinner after a visit to the plantation. If you are staying at the neighboring Inn at Middleton Place, pop over and give it a taste.
With gardens designed to bloom year round, the plantation’s famed camellias begin blooming in winter and continue to bloom through early spring.
