What to Do in Mexico City in the Winter
While visiting Mexico City in the winter, consider a stop at the Pasteleria Ideal to sample traditional Mexican breads, pastries and cakes. Don’t miss a quick walk around the second floor of the bakery to look at its display of special occasion cakes.
Make a stop at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico for a look at their ornate stained-glass ceiling. If you have time to spare, stay a while longer and enjoy drinks at their rooftop bar. Another stop for a delicious sweet-fix is Churreria El Moro, a downtown churro shop that has been in existence for 80 years. Have your churros topped with plain sugar or a cinnamon-sugar mix and enjoy them with a hot chocolate.
For dinner, make a reservation at Pujol and choose from the tasing menu or indulge in the 10 course taco bar menu. Also be sure to stop at one of the city markets like the Mercado Coyoacan where you can purchase things like fresh fruits and vegetables, moles, dried chiles and colorful textiles.
