What to do in Round Top in the Spring
The Round Top/Warrenton Antique Show takes place at the end of March and showcases an extensive schedule of vendors and opening dates. There is something here for everyone. There are shops lining the road between the small towns of Round Top, Carmine and Warrenton. For upscale shopping, visit The Arbors, Blue Hills, Market Hill, Marburger Farm or The Compound. And be sure to hit the OG tents in Warrenton where you’ll find everything from homemade soap bars to vintage Tupperware and of course, antique furniture. You’ll also want to shop the tents set up in downtown Round Top. Be sure to stop for a sample of pepper jelly. If you are visiting on the Thursday of the main week of the show, make your way over to the Junk Gypsy Prom dressed in your best 80’s – punk-rock style prom attire.
Where to Eat in Round Top During The Show*
Amidst all of the shopping, you’ll definitely need sustenance. So we’ve compiled a list of our hidden gems. If you are out at Blue Hills around lunch time, stop for a bite at Methodist Men’s BBQ. If you are in Warrenton over lunch time, grab a BBQ baked potato from the St. Paul Church stand. And if you are in Round Top, grab a bite at Royer’s Round Top or at Libby’s Kitchen and Studio. Libby’s is located by Richard Schmidt Jewelry.
And after all that shopping, plan to end your antique-filled day(s) at Prost Wine Bar in Round Top with a glass of wine and a cheese tray. While there, grab a bite from Country Sunshine, a local food truck with a location in downtown Brenham. They serve their incredible food at Prost during the antique weeks. You will not want to miss their southern hospitality and talent for making food taste good.
*Note: Some eateries are only open during the show and not year-round.
